The fourth annual Road to Recovery Walk, held Saturday, Oct. 3 at CrossRoads Church in Red Deer County, raised about $130,000 so far for the Red Deer Dream Centre.
Donations remain open until Oct. 20, with organizers aiming for $175,000.
Wes Giesbrecht, co-founder and board chair, called it the centre’s main yearly fundraiser.
“The success of this event speaks to the philanthropic nature of Central Albertans… Recovery is possible.”
Red Deer Dream Centre is a non-profit facility offering a 5.5-month residential program for adult men in downtown Red Deer.
The faith based program is geared towards restoring relationships, returning to employment and becoming healthy members of the community.
