Fort Chipewyan RCMP have arrested an 18 year old following an incident on March 29th.
At approximately 6:17 a.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence on Loutit Street. Upon police arrival, a adult male victim was located with significant injuries to his face. The suspect was identified and arrested without incident. The victim was initially taken to the Nursing Station and later air lifted to an Edmonton area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
18 year old Thomas Cardinal of Fort Chipewyan is facing a charge of Aggravated assault.
Cardinal was held in police custody for a Judicial Interim Hearing and later released on a Release Order with conditions.
He is set to appear next in the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Chipewyan on May 7, 2026.
