The Whitehorse 2026 Arctic Winter Games Host Society has released the full schedule for the upcoming Games, March 8-15, 2026.
The Games will bring together athletes, coaches, and volunteers from across the circumpolar world, including contingents from Yukon, Northern Alberta, Alaska, Nunavut, Nunavik, Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland), Sapmi, and the Northwest Territories.
150 athletes & coaches from Northern Alberta will be traveling to the North for the competition.
According to organizers, nearly all competitions will be available to stream live and on demand for free, with multi-camera productions for key events like the Opening Ceremony and Alpine Skiing. The public can attend all competitions and ceremonies at no cost, making the Games accessible to everyone.
The Games will bring together nearly 2,000 athletes and cultural participants from eight contingents across the Circumpolar North, competing in sports that range from fast and furious to traditional and powerful, including: Archery, Arctic sports, badminton, basketball, biathlon (ski and snowshoe), cross-country skiing, cultural gala, curling, Dene games, figure skating, futsal, gymnastics, hockey, snowboarding, snowshoeing, speed skating, table tennis, volleyball and wrestling.
