The City of Edmonton is gearing up to host the Nîcimos (Sweetheart) Round Dance on February 13. Kicking off at 6 p.m, the Nîcimos (Sweetheart) Round Dance will celebrate healing, kinship, and honoring families affected by the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives crisis.
Chancy Blackwater, Indigenous Relations Consultant for the City of Edmonton, tells CFWE her team is honored to provide resources for the round dance and uphold their responsibility to the community.
Blackwater says the round dance is a ceremonial gathering where community members come together for healing and support through grief and difficult times.
