The University of Alberta is set to host the Indigenous Focused tours during it’s Open House on October 18. From 9 A.M – 3 P.M, visitors can join tours at the Butterdome and the Pavilion to learn about Indigenous culture, history, and community programs.
Morningstar Willier, Indigenous Recruitment Events Coordinator, shares with CFWE what visitors can expect during the Indigenous – Focused tours, including a chance to explore a variety of Indigenous artwork and campus displays.
Willier emphasizes that the tours offer both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students an opportunity to build relationships with the Indigenous community and learn more about it’s people and culture.
Willier adds that she hopes students will see themselves reflected on campus while understanding the importance of respecting Indigenous traditions throughout the tour at the University of Alberta.
Tours times will start at 10:30, 12 P.M., 12:30 P.M, and 1:30 P.M.
