Calling Lake residents were advised to shelter-in-place early Friday afternoon.
The advisory was issued by RCMP at 1:17 p.m.
RCMP said in a news release they were able to locate the suspects after initial calls came in, however they fled the scene after showing their firearms to responding officers, prompting a shelter in place advisory.
“Athabasca RCMP advises the residents of Calling Lake to shelter in place while RCMP responds and attempts to locate and arrest the suspects,” police said in a news release. “Residents are advised to remain in their homes and not to open their doors to strangers. Should anyone notice any suspicious activity, they are asked to please call police and not to confront or approach the suspects.”
