Albertans are being invited to step onto the farm and learn where their food really comes from as a part of a province-wide event happening this weekend.
Alberta Open Farms Days is back August 16th & 17th, 2025, connecting Albertans with the people and places behind their food. Cameo Hanlon says the two-day event is aimed at promoting agri-tourism and rural sustainability, giving visitors a chance to explore farms, meet producers, and learn firsthand how food is grown and raised in Alberta.
Alberta Open Farm Days is also a celebration of local flavours with chefs and rural communities across the province hosting farm-to-table culinary events, all featuring Alberta-grown ingredients. Organizers say the goal is to build stronger connections between urban and rural Albertans while showcasing the vital role agriculture plays in the province’s economy and culture.
Their 2025 theme: WATER, THE LIFEBLOOD OF EVERY FARM.
