The kiyânaw Indigenous Day at K-Days featured a variety of fun and exciting performers and showcases, from the “CKUA” radio stage to the two largest halls — Halls B and E in the Expo Centre. With so much representation, as well as interactive teachings and cultural exhibits, where you could find hide from wolves to squirrels and beavers, and much more! You would find an abundance of pride within your heart. The halls are filled with lots of laughter, cheer, and community. In the city, it may be hard to connect with your culture and people with so much bustle and boom all the time, so this may just be the event for you!
Here’s a summary of what we did on Indigenous Day…
- Watched some wheelchair basketball
- Spoke with Notorious Cree about his performance
- explored the many, many creative artists and vendors
- Gave out exclusive CWFE/The Raven T-Shirts!
