Police investigating after body found following house fire on the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation

Police are investigating the discovery of a body after a house fire in northern Alberta.

In a statement, Wood Buffalo RCMP say that on June 12 at 3:15 p.m., officers were called to a house fire on the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation, 125 kilometres southeast of Fort McMurray.After the fire was put out, firefighters discovered the remains of one person in the debris.Investigators are determining a cause of the fire. The individual’s name is not being released by police.
