According to the RMWB, Caribou Lake Wildfire LWF-090 is still classified as out of control, but Alberta Wildfire has made significant progress on containing it and has adequate resources, including crews, earth moving equipment, helicopters and air tankers working to suppress this wildfire.
“Any further growth of this fire is not anticipated to move towards the community of Conklin”
This week, crews will begin removing structure protection sprinkler systems in the community.
Fire Ban remains in place
A Fire Ban remains in place for the forest areas and communities within the entire Municipality.
The fire bans apply to outside fires of any type throughout the region and includes:
- Open-air fires
- Recreational fires contained within a portable or fixed fire pit (including backyard fire pits)
- Fireworks
- Charcoal barbeques
The use of propane and natural gas appliances, such as barbecues and portable heaters, is allowed.
