The RCMP vehicle that was hit on May 7 while conducting a traffic stop.
In the evening hours of May 7, Wood Buffalo RCMP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 63 Northbound in the Beaconhill area of Fort McMurray.
RCMP said the officer was stopped, with all their emergency lights activated when he was struck at a high rate of speed from behind by a white Dodge RAM truck.
The collision caused extensive damage to the police vehicle and the Dodge truck.
RCMP said the officer as well as a passenger in the police vehicle at the time of the collision were not injured. The driver of the RAM truck also did not suffer from any injuries.

A 48-year-old female resident of Fort McMurray is facing the following charges:
- Fail to comply with breath demand
- Transport cannabis in open package
- Fail to move over when passing an emergency vehicle
The female, who cannot be named until an Information is sworn, was released from custody and is set to appear next in the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray on June 11, 2025.
