Edmonton Elections
After a campaign that lasted just over a month, Canadians are heading to the polls Monday to vote in the federal election.
Elections Canada says a record 7.3 million people cast ballots during advance voting. In Edmonton, the busiest riding was Riverbend, where 23,579 people voted early.
From Housing to Education to Construction, Voters spoke with CFWE on Issues they want to see addressed for the following election:
You must be a Canadian citizen who is at least 18 years old and able on election day to prove your identity and address.
Voters can register or update their information at their assigned polling station.
Employers are required by law to give workers time off to vote.
There are three ways to prove your identity and address:
- Show one piece of government-issued ID with your photo, name and current address, such as a driver’s licence.
- Show two pieces of ID, both with your name and at least one with your current address.
- If you have no ID, you can make a written declaration and have someone who knows you vouch for you at your polling station.
Polling stations will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Voter information, including your assigned polling station, can be found on your voter information card.
