Yellowhead Tribal Council Gears Up for Spring Round Dance at River Cree

On April 20, the heartbeat of the drum will echo through the River Cree Resort and Casino as the Yellowhead Tribal Council (YTC) hosts it’s Spring Round Dance. The evening promises powerful song, ceremony, and community spirit – bringing together nations from across Treaty 6 and beyond for a night of culture, connection and celebration.

Vincent Rain, advisor for the Spring Round Dance hosted by the Yellowhead Tribal Council, spoke with CFWE about the rich culture of First Nations people and how the event serves as a space for connection and healing for all who attend.

Rain emphasizes the cultural significance of the Round Dance, noting how it offers healing through the powerful sound of the drum, meaningful connections, and a sense of community.

While many celebrate Easter, the Yellowhead Tribal Council organized the event as a meaningful alternative—offering First Nations people an opportunity to come together in celebration of culture, dance, and unity.
