Fire advisory issued for County of Grande Prairie

The County of Grande Prairie has issued a fire advisory.

The advisory includes Beaverlodge, Sexsmith and Wembley, and has been issued due to current and forecasted weather conditions and increased dry grass hazards throughout the region.

Existing fire permits are still valid, but new permit requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Safe campfires for cooking and warmth are still permitted, but extreme caution is urged.

Burning is not allowed when winds reach or are forecasted to reach 12 km/h or higher.
