In the interest of public safety, the Edmonton Police Service is issuing a warning about the release of a convicted sex offender.
Robert Edward Ventress, 55, is a convicted sex offender, and EPS has reasonable grounds to believe he will commit another sexual offence against someone while in the community.
Ventress has been in custody since 2024 and has served his sentence for failing to comply with a probation order.
While in the community he will be subject to a court order with multiple conditions and will be managed by the EPS behavioural assessment unit.
Police say he has a criminal history including sexual offences, child porography and failing to comply with court ordered conditions, and thus poses a significant risk, particularly to children accessed through relationships with adults.
He is described as 6′0″, 170 pounds with green eyes and grey brown hair.
