On Apr. 4, 2025, Cochrane RCMP responded to a report of a male with a firearm in the area of Cochrane. Cochrane RCMP officers made immediate patrols, quickly locating the male.
A home made firearm was located incidental to arrest. No one was injured during this incident.
Julieus Mark, 37, a resident of Stoney Nakoda First Nation, has been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
- Carrying a concealed weapon
Mark was held for a judicial interim release hearing and later released from custody to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Cochrane on April 29, 2025.
