
I am Gitxsan follows the Gitxsan people in their battle to preserve and protect what is rightfully theirs through protests and legal actions.
The film also follows a young high school graduate named Phoenix who embarks on his own personal journey to reclaim his Indigenous heritage.
While the film focuses on the Gitxsan people, writer and director Hossein Martin Fazeli says the story is one everyone needs to know.

In the documentary, Phoenix pens a letter to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Fazeli said he also hopes people can be inspired to take action in their own lives.

The film is currently touring the festival circuit in the United States and Fazeli hopes the film will be widely available for public viewing in the summer.
