Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corp. Opens Office in Enoch Cree Nation

The Alberta Indigenous Opportunities Corporation (AIOC) held the grand opening of its new office in Enoch Cree Nation to help further economic impacts for First Nations and Metis Settlements across the province of Alberta.

Since its inception in 2019, AIOC has impacted 43 Indigenous Nations and Groups across 8 projects, with over $725 million in loan guarantees in sectors such as natural resources, transportation, telecommunications, agriculture, and tourism.

Chana Martineau, Chief Executive Director of AIOC spoke with CFWE saying it’s history in the making to open a space for support for Indigenous businesses and investment and large-scale infrastructure projects province-wide.

Martineau speaks on the large scale loan guarantees that AIOC will look to provide to Indigenous projects across Alberta, from natural resources, transportation, telecommunications, agriculture, and tourism.

AIOC aims to focus on providing investment opportunities within First Nations and Metis Settlements to accelerate projects that provide participation from Indigenous projects towards the economy.

Rick Wilson, Minister of Indigenous Relations spoke with CFWE on his excitement on the grand opening of the AIOC office, that creates a warm and welcoming space for Indigenous people to bring forward their planned projects for their communities.
