A person died in a downtown fire early Friday morning.
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services received a call about a “person on fire” at 3:12 a.m. and arrived at 96 Street and Jasper Avenue.
In a statement, EFRS confirmed a person was on fire, but directed all other questions to EPS.
EPS confirmed the victim caught fire due to handling “flammable material.”
The death is being considered non-criminal.
