Rocky Mountain House RCMP are calling the death of a man on a nearby First Nation a homicide.
In a media release, RCMP said the man was found dead early Tuesday at a home on O’Chiese First Nation. Officers had received a 9-1-1 call just after midnight of a shooting and travelled to scene.
Upon arrival, police located a deceased male.
The deceased has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the death is being investigated as a homicide.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has been deployed and taken over the investigation.
O’Chiese First Nation is 50 kilometres northwest of Rocky Mountain House and 150 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
