
Three people were killed and another was seriously injured in a crash in Lac La Biche County Thursday evening.
Around 7:45 p.m., RCMP received a cell phone notification about the head-on collision between a Ford Escape and a Ford Super Duty, which had been pulling a travel trailer, on Highway 55 between Range Roads 121 and 162.
Police say life saving measures were attempted on the two occupants from the Ford Escape, occupied by a male and female, both residents of Plamondon. Both were declared deceased on scene.
Life saving measures were also attempted on the two occupants from the Ford Super Duty. One female, a resident of High Prairie, was declared deceased on scene.
The male, a resident of Glendon, was extracted with the jaws of life, and then was transported to the Lac La Biche Hospital before being transported to Edmonton via STARS with serious life-threatening injuries.
Police did not say what caused the crash. They are asking anyone who may have dash cam footage from the area or who witnessed the crash to contact Lac La Biche RCMP.
