Five people are in hospital following an explosion Thursday at a Red Deer industrial site.
Just before 4pm, Emergency Services responded to the prairie Bus lines building on 54th Street.
In an update at 6:50 p.m., the City of Red Deer said that five individuals were transported to hospital, two with critical injuries. All those injured were employees at the site.
No other buildings were impacted.
Nearby residents and businesses experienced a brief power outage to allow RDES to extinguish the fire safely.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
