After 10 to 15 cm of heavy snow fell in Edmonton, the city has declared it’s seasonal parking ban on all major roads.
The Phase 1 parking ban comes into effect on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 7 a.m. and is expected to last three to five days.
During this parking ban, snow-clearing crews will work on arterial roads, collector roads, bus routs and roads within business areas, including all roads with seasonal ‘no parking’ signs.
Poeple may still park on residential streets that are not bus routes.
Vehicles may be ticketed after 7 a.m. on Dec. 19 if they are parked on hills along arterial roads, collector roads and bus routes in the downtown area.
Parking can resume on roads once clearing is complete.
Residents can refer to the Roadways Snow Clearing Map on the City of Edmonton’s website.
