After signing a three year contract extension last week to remain with the “Green n Gold” quarterback Tre Ford spoke to media discussing his extension.
After finishing his three-year rookie CFL deal, the 26-year-old signs a fresh multi-year agreement. General manager Ed Hervey said he wanted to give him “every opportunity” to be the starter in Edmonton.
Ford spoke to media about the revolving door of ownership and coaches, stating this new group of management seems to have a common goal of winning.
Ford completed 71.7 percent of his passes for 1,137 yards with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions while rushing 23 times for 206 yards, 9.0 per carry, this past season. He continued to say he has a newfound confidence for starting next year as the presumed #1 guy, but also knows nothing is given in this league.
Ford was selected in the first round, eighth overall during the 2022 CFL Draft.
