The City of Grande Prairie’s free community sandbox is back, helping residents keep sidewalks and driveways safer and slip-free throughout the winter season.
Located at the City Service Centre (9505 112 Street) near the south end of 112 Street, the sandbox provides sand to improve traction and support winter safety.
Here’s how residents can use the service:
- Bring up to two, five-gallon containers to the City Service Centre.
- Collect sand from the community sandbox for use on sidewalks and driveways.
- Ensure containers are suitable for transportation.
“We’re glad to bring back the community sandbox this winter,” said Transportation Director, Wade Nellis. “We appreciate residents’ efforts to clear their sidewalks and use sand to help improve accessibility and safety for everyone in the community.”
