A northern Alberta man is facing 15 charges after Lac La Biche RCMP recovered nearly $1 million worth of stolen vehicles and other property during a search earlier this month.
The investigation began on November 8, when police in the hamlet received a report of a man allegedly pointing a firearm at someone while driving. The incident led RCMP to obtain a search warrant for a property on the nearby Heart Lake First Nation.
When officers executed the warrant, they uncovered a trove of stolen property, including more than 30 vehicles with an estimated total value of nearly $1 million.
35 year old Joshua Ladouceur of Heart Lake is facing multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, numerous firearms offences, and five counts of possession of stolen property valued over $5,000.
Ladouceur is scheduled to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice on December 16.
RCMP continue to investigate the case and believe the seized property could provide leads in other related crimes
