
A Calgary man has been charged in the death of a pizza restaurant worker who sustained injuries when a pickup truck crashed into the building.
28-year-old Roger Sierra is charged with criminal negligence causing death following Saturday’s crash, which happened just before the lunch hour at Boston Pizza in downtown Fort McMurray.
According to Mounties, the Ford F350 Sierrra caused significant structural damage to the building at Franklin Ave. and Richard St.
One of the employees, a 24-year-old woman, was struck by the pickup and died later at northern Lights hospital.
Boston Pizza in Fort McMurray posted on Facebook that it is closed until further notice due to the “sudden and tragic passing” of one of its BP family members.
