The Edmonton Oilers have penned a new contract with 2024 first-round draft pick Sam O’Reilly.
Monday afternoon, the Oilers announced on the X platform that they have signed O’Reilly to a three-year, entry-level contract.
The 18-year-old Toronto, Ontario native is a relentless shutdown defensive centre with physicality, details, and a clever quick-touch passing game according to Eliteprospects.com.
O’Reilly is a former OHL champion coming from the London Knights putting up 2 goals, and 3 assist for 5 points across his 7 games played this season for the Knights .
The blue and orange are coming off a loss to the Dallas Stars but return home on Tuesday to host the 2-2-0 Carolina Hurricanes in Rogers Place with puck drop slated for 7 p.m. MST.
