One person is in custody after a standoff in Camrose that lasted almost 18 hours.
The suspect surrended Friday morning and was taken into custody.
At 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, officers received several calls about shots being fired in the area of 42 Street and 52 Avenue.
When police arrived on scene, the suspect fired several shots at the officers.
A shelter-in-place order was put into effect immediately for residents in the area.
Officers established a containment zone surrounding the suspects home, and called the RCMP Emergency Response Unit.
The shelter-in-place order has now been lifted, residents should expect to see police in the neighbourhood for several hours.
No injuries have been reported.
