The City of Edmonton announced an updated Snow and Ice Control program to help maintain roadways and active pathways within the city, along with providing real time mas and adjusted prioritized service levels for snow clearing.
Val Dacyk, general supervisor of infrastructure field operations with the city of Edmonton spoke with CFWE and says winter just around the corner, the Snow and Ice Control program will kick off their winter shift with 600 staff and equipment at the ready to take on the snowfall.
Dacyk speaks on the new changes to the program include redefined priority levels for roadway segments, which will focus on select freeways, arterial roadways, downtown business districts and hills to be completed within one day.
Within the inner city and communities within Edmonton that require snow removal, Dacyk adds that residents can call 311 or visit their website to keep up to date on when their area will see snow removal.
