Update:
The Alberta RCMP have lifted the shelter-in-place advisory for the CFB Cold Lake area, which had been in effect since early Monday morning.
The advisory was issued shortly after 8 a.m. Monday, September 2nd following reports of a suspicious person armed with a firearm in the vicinity of CFB Cold Lake. After an extensive four-hour search, RCMP officials have announce that they no longer believe the suspect is in the area. Additionally, the reported firearm has been recovered by the police.

On Labour Day Monday, Alberta RCMP issued a shelter-in-place order for residents within the CFB Cold Lake area, as officers actively searched for an armed suspect.
The shelter-in-place affects residents in the following areas. North of Kingsway, West of 62 Street, South of Township Road 632, East of Range Road 424. This area includes the Cold Lake Golf and Country Club.
Cold Lake and Bonnyville RCMP are currently tracking the suspect, who is described as a male with a light complexion, approximately 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black hat, a black jacket, a white and black striped shirt, and blue jeans.
Residents within the designated zone are asked to stay indoors, lock all doors, and report any suspicious activity to 911 immediately. Those outside of the specified area are urged to avoid traveling to the region until further notice.
