The private information of approximately one million Park’N Fly users was accessed during a data breach last month.
This according to the company which operates out of the International Edmonton Airport.
Park’N Fly has confirmed that a third party had access to it’s network via an unauthorized remote VPN between July 11 and July 13.
When the breach was detected, their information technology team launched an investigation with assistance from a cyber security partner to determine what information was accessed.
Basic customer information including names, email addresses and physical mailing addresses, along with Aeroplan and CAA members numbers were compromised according to the company.
When it comes to payment information, including credit card numbers and passwords were not compromised with the company stating they can confirm “with certainty.”
“While we deeply regret any concern this incident may have caused, we want to reassure our valued customers and partners that we are taking all necessary steps to safeguard their information,” according to Park’N Fly Canada’s CEO Carlo Marrello, adding , “We remain committed to transparency and will continue to prioritize the integrity of our systems as we navigate this situation,”
Affected customers and stakeholders have been contacted through email.
Park’N Fly operates a parking service lot just east of the Edmonton International Airport along with seven Canadian cities.
