Over the weekend, Old Strathcona closed most of their streets for the annual International Fringe Festival. The yearly event provides Edmontonians with the opportunity to experience live music, street performances and one of a kind theatre acts.
Murray Utas, Artistic Director for the Fringe was blown away by the reception the event got over the weekend, with many festival goers enduring rain and cloudy conditions.

In addition to all the performances and art, there’s an opportunity for everyone to support local businesses with the Fringe Market, among the many booths is Threekind Candle Company, an Indigenous owned company ran by Monica McCallum. Even though the market booths are a little farther away from the main hub, McCallum says the energy from all the shoppers is infectious.
