On August 17, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Lac La Biche RCMP received a report of suspicious behavior at the Kikino Rodeo near the Silver Birch Resort. Witnesses described a male waving a firearm around causing a disturbance and inciting fear to the rodeo attendees.
Upon arrival, Lac La Biche RCMP located and arrested an adult male. Police continued their investigation following the arrest as no firearm was located at the rodeo grounds during the initial response.
Lac La Biche RCMP then executed a search warrant on the mobile home and vehicle of the arrested male. Following the search, a prohibited firearm described as a .22 calibre sawed-off shot gun was recovered along with ammunition.
20 year old Keith Faithful of Goodfish Lake was charged with numerous offences, and was released from Custody.
Faithful will appear in Lac La Biche court on September 16.
