Recently, the Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation celebrated their 47th Annual Pow Wow that showcased the culture with traditional dancers, vendors and hand-games tournament.
Allan Susan, Pow Wow coordinator told CFWE that it’s an unbelievable feeling with a positive vibes, with campers and newcomers to the event.

Susan goes on to say that with seeing a lot of non-Indigenous people attending the Pow Wow is amazing to see, along with the youth in the community participating within the Pow Wow is a blessing.

Susan is hopeful that attendees at the Alexis Pow Wow walk away feeling healed that may be struggling mentally, by watching the dancers, hearing the drum beat, or hearing the stories from the Elders at the Alexis Nakota Souix Naiton Pow Wow.
