The Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society hosted their Grand Opening of the newly built Sweatlodge and Ceremonial Building near the Bent Arrow Facility, that will allow many to attend sweatlodge ceremonies within the city and to learn about the importance of ceremony.
Cheryl Whiskeyjack, executive director of Bent Arrow speaks on her excitement of the new lodge after a long wait and preparation’s for the inside for the public to use the lodge.

Whiskeyjack speaks on what attendees can expect when they enter into the sweatlodge, as it gives a sense of being at home with the help of a woodstove and wool socks.

Whiskeyjack speaks on how the name ‘Sacred Family Lodge’ was chosen with the Cree Language.
Whiskeyjack says that it’s about the community coming together that helped get the lodge erected on Bent Arrow Grounds, with donations from large corporations and community members within the city of Edmonton, and within one month, they hit their goal of fundraising for the new building.
