Evergreen Park is set to host it’s first-ever Indigenous Celebration Indian Relay Racing event for June 8-9th in Grande Prairie at the J.D.A Raceway.
The two-day event will feature Indian Relay Racing and also include drummers, singers and dancers; tipis; Indigenous food; Indigenous arts and crafts; and more.
Kim Randall, General Manager of Evergreen Park speaks on their excitement for their first annual Indian Relay event with 20 teams for both Alberta and Saskatchewan participating in the event.
Randall speaks on working with fellow communities groups from Sucker Creek First Nation and with Western Cree Tribal Council and Metis Nation down in Grande Cache to put together the Indigenous Celebration Indian Relay event.
Randall is hopeful that community members within Grande Prairie can take the time to participate and get educated on the Indigenous culture showcased at the Indian Relay event.
