Edmonton Police say Hangar 11 fire is suspicious

Edmonton Police have confirmed a fire that destroyed an historic hangar in Edmonton is deemed ‘suspicious’.

EPS has confirmed they’re investigating the blaze but hasn’t provided any new information. Hangar 11 at 109 Street and 117 Avenue was part of the former Edmonton Municipal Airport, previously known as Blatchford Field.

Built in 1942 by the US Military, it’s believed to be the last of it’s kind in Western Canada.
