Students from the Hunting Hills High School in Red Deer gathered together in a group art project by designing eagle feathers that showcased the importance of Reconciliation, with one of the feathers designed by Grade 10 Student Daniel Young titled ‘Be the Change’, is now being portrayed onto sweaters within the school for Truth and Reconciliation.
Debbie Streight, First Nations, Metis and Inuit support worker with Hunting Hills High School says the students were excited to get together to create designs with everyone wanting to ‘Be the Change’.
Streight says that Hunting Hills High School has done many different learning activities throughout the school year to further educate the students on the importance on Truth and Reconciliation.
Streight hopes that going forward their more cultural teachings and celebrations to help with the healing through Truth and Reconciliation.
