The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is investigating after a man died in Red Deer RCMP custody on Sunday.
RCMP members say they received notification that a man they had arrested on March 25 and transported to their detachment died in hospital from his injuries.
Officers were sent to a 50 Avenue home shortly before 11pm on March 25th to follow up on complaints of a man acting erratically and running into traffic. Crews arrested him and took him to the RCMP detachment, they said he needed medical attention.
Paramedics were called to the scene, found the man unresponsive, used life-saving measures on him and took him to Red Deer Regional Hospital.
