Swan Hills hospital closing overnight ER for the beginning of April

A shortage of nurses remains a problem for the Swan Hills hospital as they announced the closure of their overnight Emergency Room for early April.

The closures are nothing new for the Swan Hills region, AHS had previously shut down the emergency room for four nights in early December.

The periods of closure will be:

• 7 p.m. on Monday, April 1 to 7 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2  
• 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2 to 7 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3 
• 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3 to 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 4 
• 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 to 7 a.m. on Friday, April 5

During the closures, AHS is asking patients to dial 9-1-1 if it’s an emergency.
