A casting call has been put out by Netflix for actors and actresses to be featured in their newest drama/western series.
The Abandons, will be filming in Calgary and surrounding areas from May 14 till mid-October.
“We are looking for authentic looks, unique character faces, hard-working types, blue collar looks, blacksmiths, rancher types, labourer types, butchers, upscale affluent looks & amputees,” the tweet stated.
The casting call also stated that they are looking for men, women, and children, aged between eight and 80 years of age.
“Open to all Ethnicities: Caucasian, First Nations, Black, Asian & Hispanic,” the tweet added.
The in-person casting call will be held on Saturday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Double Tree by Hilton Calgary in the Cascade Room.
The Abandons is a 10-episode series, featuring two big stars from some of the world’s most well-known TV shows.
Gillian Anderson, known for her role as Margaret Thatcher on Netflix’s The Crown and The X-Files, will play alongside Game of Thrones‘ Lena Headey.
The Abandons was written by Kurt Sutter, from Sons of Anarchy fame.
The series’ plot revolves around, ‘a corrupt force of wealth and power that covets the lands of a group of diverse and atypical families and tries to drive them out, they must pursue their Manifest Destiny.’
