Two bridges on the southwest Anthony Henday Drive that cross the North Saskatchewan river are being dedicated in honour of Constable Travis Jordan and Constable Brett Ryan of the Edmonton Police Service who died in the line of duty on March 16 2023.
Devin Dresheen, the Minister of Transportation and Economic Corridors highlighted that the naming of the bridges is a testament to the enduring legacy of the officers.
The naming of the bridges is to honour both Constable Travis Jordan and Constable Brett Ryan for years to come while remembering the sacrifices they made protecting Edmontonians.
Mike Ellis, the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Services, emphasized their commitment to support and protect frontline workers.
Ellis stated that the bridge will serve as a reminder of the two officers who lost their lives while protecting the people of Edmonton.
Our province will forever be deeply grateful for the sacrifice and commitment of Constable Jordan and Constable Ryan. To the families and friends of these fallen officers, may this bridge renaming honour your loved ones for generations to come as heroes who had the courage to protect our community.
Ashley Ryan, the wife of Constable Brett Ryan, expressed her gratitude for the Government’s and EPS’s decision to commemorate Brett’s memory.

The eastbound bridge will be dedicated to Constable Jordan and the westbound bridge will be dedicated to Constable Ryan. Memorial signs bearing the names of the fallen officers will be posted at the ends of each bridge.
