The third Annual Battle of the Badges took place in Spruce Grove where the local Fire Department members and the RCMP played in a charity hockey game to raise money for First Responders Mental Health Initiatives through the Legacy Place Society.
Windspeaker Radio Network spoke with Spruce Grove Mayor Jeff Acker as he says it’s bigger then ever, as he says it’s a great opportunity for community members to come out and support the First Responders.

Festejo speaks on a fallen RCMP member Brett Ryan that played a huge role in the previous Battle of the Badges as he was honored with his name being used a scholarship that was awarded during the event.

Laurie Ryan, the mother of the late Brett Ryan says that the members of the Battle of the Badges and the community honoring her late son was a honour in a way that she says was unbelievable.
