The Metis Nation of Alberta is hosting the Askiy Winter Guardians Gathering in Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park in Lac La Biche on March 16th.
Kimberly Mosicki, environmental manager with the MNA spoke with CFWE about her excitement of the Askiy Winter Guardians Gathering.
Mosicki highlights the many winter activities and programs that will be part of the event.
One of the programs that will be shown to attending MNA members is the Fish Healthy Community Monitoring program, where the MNA can take a look at the data gathered from fishers throughout the many lakes across Alberta, with 500 forms submitted from over 200 MNA citizens covering 150 water ways.
Mosicki says she loves seeing the reactions from the children and families that ice fish and that partake in the activities make putting together makes it all worth it.
