At least six people have been arrested and will now face charges after a string of liquor store robberies in Fort McMurray.
Crews say the thefts started in September 0f 2023, RCMP responded to more than 350 calls claiming theft of liquor. In December, RCMP partnered with members of the community to help with the approximate $3,000 in stolen property.
After investigating, RCMP arrested:
- 26 year old Anthony Johnson
- 33 year old Theresa Antoine
- 30 year old Dakota Merasty
- 42 year old Blaine Whiteknife
- 36 year old Selem Asefad
- 30 year old Liban Hersi
All six are from Fort McMurray and will all face theft under $5,000 charges.
