ATCO Electric customers are being warned about a phone scam.
The scam targets ATCO customers, with the caller posing as a representative. During the phone call the “representative” will threaten to disconnect the customer’s power unless payment is provided.
Scammers are impersonating ATCO representatives through phone calls and in-person visits, demanding payment, and threatening to disconnect power if you don’t comply.
If you receive a call that seems suspicious or someone knocks on your door claiming to work for ATCO, hang up or refuse entry and contact ATCO directly to verify the legitimacy of the request.
