The province’s new booking website is up and running for those looking to book their summer camping adventures.
This is the first trial run of the new Alberta Parks website that looks to simplify the booking process as well as make it more equitable.
Backcountry camping along with individual camping can be booked 90 days prior to your arrival date.
Comfort camping and group camping can be booked 180 days before arrival.
The site is open for backcountry bookings as of Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. while the comfort camping bookings aren;t expected to be available untilFeb. 26, then group camping reservations by Feb 28.
No system overloads or delays were reported as the bookings ran smoothly this morning.
Feb 26 will be the biggest challenge for the new system to handle the load of individual bookings.
