Parking rates at Alberta Health Services facilities are set to rise.
Effecting April 1, 2024, rates at sites across Alberta will go up in order to align with local markets and reflect inflation costs. The rates will be different per market, but AHS said on average, daily rates will rise by $0.75 in large markets and $0.50 in smaller ones.
The increase will affect parking at facilities in Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie, Leduc, St. Albert and Fort McMurray.
Information on Increases can be found at the AHS website.
In a statement, Alberta Health Services said “healthcare dollars do not go towards parking services at AHS facilities. AHS parking is required to be financially self-sustaining, and AHS is responsible for all maintenance costs, as well as the costs for the construction of any new parkades.”
