On March 5-6th, the Athabasca Tribal Council is set to host their first-ever Career Fair inside the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, with special guest and keynote speaker Mo Brings Plenty from the hit television series ‘Yellowstone’.
Over 500 students from the Wood Buffalo area and surrounding communities, along with community members will be attending the two day fair in search for a career.
Brittany Kozak, Director of employment and training at ATC spoke with CFWE about her excitement of the Career Fair, and having Mo Brings Plenty as a keynote speaker.
Kozak says that close to 80 employers and 10 artisan tables will be set for the career fair for many students and residents to check out from the Wood Buffalo area.
With the career fair funded by the Alberta Government Indigenous Relations funding stream, as Kozak says that it’s important for Indigenous cultural economy to thrive, along with the career fair being a stepping stone for the 500 students and Wood Buffalo residents to get access towards their chosen career path.
